Founded as a family-owned and operated business, CK Worldwide designs and manufactures its products in Auburn, Washington. The company was established in 1967 by Art Kleppen and Jim Conley with the goal of making TIG welding a more efficient process. This was achieved by introducing state-of-the-art, high-performance materials into the relatively simple TIG welding torch.
One of the earliest innovations was the development of silicone rubber insulated torch heads. Compared to the phenolic heads previously used, these offered significantly longer service life, improved protection against current leakage, and much greater durability in everyday use, including accidental drops. Combined with numerous other industry-changing innovations, these advancements laid the foundation for CK Worldwide to drive TIG welding technology forward and establish itself as “The Standard in TIG Welding.”
